PTFE
= Polythertrafluorethylene
Presentation:
Applications:
PTFE, or Polytetrafluoroethylene, is used in the manufacture of equipment for use in the marine environment: seals and sealing rings, valve seats and discs, and technical parts subjected to heat or chemical attack.
Advantages:
- Extensive chemical resistance
- Very high thermal resistance
- Very good insulation
- Very good coefficient of friction
- Resistance under load
- Limited wear resistance
- Excellent temperature resistance
Disadvantages:
- Difficult to weld
- Cannot be glued naturally
- Specific treatment required
